We only supply legal number plates, In order to supply number plates in the UK you have to be registered with the DVLA. BEWARE of any one selling show plates, It is an offence to supply show plates in Great Britain

What is likely to happen if I obtain Show plates to put on my vehicle ?

The police are currently cracking down on drivers who use number plates that do not conform to UK legislation. On top of generating unwanted police attention your vehicle is almost certain to fail it's MOT.

Do you offer none standard sizes of number plates?

Yes, we can manufacture any size of number plates to suit your requirements. Please email us with you specific sizes & we will send you a quote by return.

Help with buying and selling a Number Plate

Can I have a Football Club Badge on my number plate

I am affraid that Football clubs, Car Logos or anything other the badges/Flags that are on our plate builder are illegal

I have seen cars with italics & different fonts can I have these?

The only font that complies with the law is the Charles Wright Font, this is the font that is used on all our number plates, there is an option for 3D which looks good, see our plate builder.

What documents do I need to buy number plates?

You need to prove entitlement to the registration number and proof of Identity need to send original documents not copies. A list of acceeptable documents can be found on the number plate law page of this website.

Why will my number plates have Platinum Plates Ltd B75 6WH at the bottom?

All number plates need to have the details of the DVLA registered number plate supplier on them.

Do I have to change my number plate if it is cracked or broken?

If the number plate is damaged in such a way that it makes the registration mark difficult to read it does need to be replaced.

Are 3D characters allowed?

Registration numbers and letters must be black and non - reflectable. 3D characters are allowed provided the number plate complies with the British Standard specification (BS AU 145d).

Is a honeycombed or other background pattern permitted?

No, overprinting including honeycomb or other background designs are not allowed.

Can I pay by methods other than credit card?

Yes. You may pay by Cheque, or Bankers Draft.

How quickly will I recieve my number plates?

All our number plates are despatched the same day we recieve your order and documents by royal mail as 1st class post. Generally you would expect delivery the next day but this not a guarantee.

Do your number plates come with the holes pre-drilled ?

No like most number plate suppliers our number plates come without the holes drilled. The reason for this is the holes can vary from car to car. Also a lot of vehicles these days have the plates fixed with adhesive pads. It's really easy to make the holes with a small drill.
