VINTAGE: Concours Hosts Le Mans Racers

This June, the thirtieth anniversary of the Dana Point collectible car show will take place, featuring hundreds of classic American and European automobiles with eye-catching customised number plates. It will especially showcase the fiftieth anniversary of the Shelby. Concours d’Elegance will have many racing cars and other competition quality cars that will be judged according to their class and condition. Registration is currently open and tickets are still available.

Proposal to raise taxes on vintage cars sparks debate

There are 47,730 automobiles across Connecticut registered in the Early American plate program. Cars in this program get special custom license plate and are worth a fortune however they can’t be taxed at assessed values exceeding $500. Currently there is a big debate as to weather or not that should be changed.

Connecticut Advances RFID License Plate Legislation

Connecticut is considering implanting Radio Frequency Identification (RID) chips installed onto license plates. This would make it easier for the state to collect money from drivers who owe on past tickets or fees and they would no longer need to rely on cheap number  plate image recognition software to pick up on these people who owe. The second phase of the project would be to use RID to aid in issuing speeding tickets.
