Auburn spring auction features classics, memorabilia and more

The Auburn spring auctions will have cars from all different parts of the world. There are cars from the 30s, 50s, and on. The restored cars are not the only thing that are available at this auction, there are also memorabilia, hood ornaments, neon signs and original paintings as well as cheap number plates. Only $10 for a day pass and $25 for a full weekend pass makes this affordable for everyone, not just the buyers of the $500,000 cars.

Dragone Classic Motorcars to host auction on May 19

The Dragone Classic Motorcars Company, hosted by brother Manny and George Dragone, is set to showcase 50 antique classic cars with custom number plates for auction, on May 19th. The collection includes rare classics such as a 1931 Dusenberg but also includes “barn find” autos for sale – untouched and complete with dirty windows.

LDHS couples attend prom in restored 1959 Cadillacs

Several high school students in South Dakota skipped the limo and drove to prom in classic style. A group of Lead-Deadwood HS students arrived in two restored classic 1959 Cadillac cars, one green and one pink and both have a customised number plates. Martina and Garrett Mack are siblings, and their parents restored the vintage Cadillac vehicles. Martina and Garrett invited their dates and two other couples for the experience.

Special License Plate Fund Spay/Neuter Programs

The Tennessee Department of Health is using the sale of custom license plates to fund a low cost spay and neuter progam for cats and dogs. By reducing the number of unwanted animals, the program will help control the spread of rabies and other serious diseases which can be contacted by pets and humans. Tennessee law already requires cats and dogs to be vaccinated against rabies which can be a fatal disease.

Stolen plates cover tracks of Sheffield fuel thieves

Thieves in Sheffield are stealing car number plates and using them to drive off from petrol stations, unidentified and without paying. Detective Inspector Helen Tate explained that the stolen plates only have a short use time before they are registeres as stolen and police start looking for vehicles using them. She speculated that the crimes are fueled by high petrol costs and difficult economic times.

Classic cars come to town for annual auto event

The Antique Automobile Club of America held its area spring auto event in Worthington, Minnesota. The Prairieland Chapter sponsored the two-day “Spring Fling” event in April. Car enthusiasts came from Minnesota and neighboring Wisconsin. Visitors got a chance to see classic American cars with various vanity plates and visit local restaurants and tourist attractions, like Marv’s Car & Sign Museum.

Vintage cars delight Amdavadis

On April 15th, vintage car enthusiasts gathered for the “Vintage Classic and Old Car Awareness Drive” event in Gujarat, India. The Gujarat Vintage and Classic Car Club set up the first-ever rally in Ahmedabad to generate public interest and to celebrate vintage cars also with vintage number plates. Many of these international vehicles included car models like Austin, Contessa, Ambassador, Morris Minor and Buick.
