New Welwyn business takes Pride of Plate

A U.K. online service, PrideofPlate.com, offers a buyer-seller venue for personalized license plates. Daniel Reeves of Welwyn, Hertfordshire, charges 14.99 UK Pounds to list your vehicle cheap number plate for sale, with no other fees. Calling it the AutoTrader of license plates, Reeves says his service is much cheaper than others. He plans to add a registration service for purchased plates.

DMV wants “profane” license plates back

The DMV is asking a man to return a custom license plate issued 7 years ago. They are wanting to replace the letters that the man chose with something else because they are now being considered “profane, obscene or vulgar in nature.” The plate that reads “FOSAMA” is being considered to mean either, “Fight Osama or forget Osama”. The man received his replacement plate, which reads, “6668up.” He has decided that he wants another plate, he wants to pick what is reads, and he does not appreciate the plate that was sent to him.

Officer finds his Chevrolet Chevelle dream car

Being a ploice man can be a very fun and interesting job. Some times it can lead you to things that you are very interested for example Sgt. Jerry Coglianese was aware that there was a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS in the area and that is one of his favorite cars. So he hunted down the owner through its customised number plates and eventually talked him into selling it to him.

Elvis impersonator all shook up over new licence plate

One lucky Elvis impersonator hit it big when he won a presonalized registration plate. Jason Webster had long been thinking about getting a plate that was personalized with his name or birthdate but when he saw on auction for a plate that read ” ELV 15F” he knew that was the custom number plate that he had to have. Knowing how much these plates tend to go for, Jason was prepared to bid high and fight hard, and he did. After a tense bidding war with another Elvis fan, he won the plate for 2,100. A touching note to the story is that Jason became an Elvis fan thanks to his later fathers love of Elvis. The new plate will now be on the car that belongsed to his late father.
