The term Vintage Number Plates is used to describe the number plate on a classic vehicle. Vintage number plates are sometimes referred to as classic number plates or black and silver number plates. The supply of numbers is wrapped up in a mass of Government legislation dictating the style and display of a vehicle registration number on number plates.
Only vehicles registered before 1973 can have vintage number plates on them, Black and silver number plates. The most common type of vintage number plates are made from pressed aluminum. This traditional method is still used today to create classic number plates.
Often when a classic car or motorcycle has been restored back to it’s original condition the final piece of the jigsaw are the new replacement vintage number plates.
